Last time I was here, I got stuck in the quiet zone near the Wilhelminabos, a place of remembrance for cancer survivors. Thankfully, this time around the parking area at the beginning – near the restaurant – was free. There are even two picnic tables, of which we claimed one.
Again, a really hard time to get out. I suspect it may have to do with my coax cable. Measuring the SWR had some issues (4:1 or worse overall) until I started moving the cable around, where it dropped to about 1:1 as expected. It’s probably time to resolder the connections: 10 contacts in two hours. It’s been better.
I did have time to try and fiddle around with my recently built 40m coil and it seemed to tune okay.
